Hector Martinez Peralta is a writer, researcher, and community organizer based in the San Diego-Tijuana border region where he grew up. Hector received his PhD in American Studies from Yale University in 2025. Currently, funded by an ACLS Leading Edge Fellowship (2026-2028), Hector works as the Director of Creative Advocacy and Partnerships for the AjA Project. Previously, Hector was a Visiting Scholar at San Diego State University, Imperial Valley (2024-25), where he taught courses in Native American & Indigenous Studies, Chicana/o/x Studies, and Border Studies.
